The following is a list of positions that are available each summer:

Job Descriptions

Prepress/Digital plate making

Duties include managing the queue of a Scitex Brisque 4 impose station for output of poly plates and final films. Operator will be responsible for the checking page position and order. Maintain output device, processor and chemistry. Prepress experience a plus. Involves standing and moving about the work area 80-90% of the time and able to lift 30-50lbs. Day, and night shifts available.

Press Assistant

Duties involve lifting 20 to 35lbs., loading paper, filling and monitoring ink fountains and water fountains. Learning fit and register aspects of press operation and printing. Evening and night shifts available. Willing to train candidates that show initiative.

Folder Operator

Operate folder and perform quality control inspection. Involves standing and moving about equipment 90-100% of the time, filling and labeling boxes with each folded item. Must be able to lift 20-25 lbs., job requires some mechanical ability and folding experience preferred. Day and evening shifts available.

Laminator Operator

Operate laminator line and perform quality control inspection. Involves standing and moving about equipment 90-100% of the time. Must be able to lift 20-25 lbs., job requires some mechanical ability and laminator experience preferred. Day and evening shifts available.

Collator Staging/Quality Control

Locate and organize orders to be collated. Perform quality control inspection. Involves standing and moving about 90-100% of the time. Must be able to lift 15-25 lbs. routinely while locating and moving boxes of printed materials. Day shift only.

Collating Assistant

Work in six person teams operating collating and die cutting machine. Involves standing and moving about equipment 90-100% of the time. Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. routinely while loading machines. Day and evening shifts available.

Punching Operator

Work in two person teams operating punching machines; perform quality control inspection. Involves standing and moving about equipment 70 - 100 % of the time. Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. routinely while loading machines. Day, evening, and night shifts available.

Coiling Operator

Inserting plastic coils into books. Must be able to sit at coiling station approximately 90-100% of the time. Day and evening shifts available.

Packing Specialist

Supply coilers with product and pack finished books into shipping cartons; calculate proper quantities, record shipping information; perform quality control inspection. Move finished orders to shipping. Involves standing and moving about packing area 90-100% of the time. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. regularly. Day and evening shifts available.

Finishing Specialist

Make up shortages by repairing damaged books, file extra book parts and sample books. Perform quality control inspection. Involves sitting at repair table about 50% of the time and moving about department approximately 50% of the time. Must be able to lift 15-30 lbs. routinely. Day shift only.

Shipping Specialist

Confirm finished cartons into computer, record shipping information; print manifests, perform quality control inspection. Move finished orders to semi-trailer. File extra book parts. Operate pallet jacks and forklift. Involves standing and moving about packing area 90-100% of the time. Must be able to lift 40-50 lbs. routinely. Day shift only.
